LRSC Basketball Finalizes 2024 Class

Head Coach Jared Marshall is excited to announce the 2024 Recruiting Class

Lat Monydehl is a 6'6 Wing from Calgary, AB. He averaged 17.7ppg 6.4rpg 1.4spg 1.6bpg last year for Edge Prep

Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say about Lat, "Lat is a long 6'6 athletic wing who's capable of guarding 1-5. Love the possibilities that he brings to the table with the way he attacks the basket and shoots the 3."

Jazayah Gates is a 6'1 Guard from St, Paul, MN. He averaged 10ppg for a Tartan team that went 24-5 on the year. 

Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say about Jazayah, "Jazayah is a worker. Played in a tough system where they got after you at Tartan. Solid all around and can really stretch the floor."

Bronson Chambers is a 6'5 Guard from Brampton, ONT. He is an NCAA D2 transfer from Cal State Monterey Bay where he averaged 1.5ppg 1.0rpg 0.3apg. Before that he was a standout at Dream City Christian averaging 11.5ppg & 4.0rpg.

Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say about Bronson, "Bronnie is an all around player with deep range. I think he is a guy we are going to be able to count on to provide leadership for our program."

Ron Lee is a 5'11 Guard from Minneapolis, MN. He helped lead Benilde-St. Margaret's to a 19-10 record and a spot in the 3A Section 6 Championship. he averaged 12ppg 4rpg 2apg 2spg on the season.

Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say about Ron, "He is a tough, hard nosed guy that does everything a team needs him to do. Ron has the ability to fill up the stat sheet!"

Antonio Speed is a 6'4 Guard/Forward from St. Louis Park, MN. He is transferring to LRSC from NAIA Peru State where he averaged 17.1ppg 6.4rpg 2.4apg and 0.9spg for their reserve team.

Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say about Antonio, "Antonio brings college experience to the Royals next year. He's a big athletic guard/forward that's able to bully people to the hoop! I love how hard he works."

Josh Miller is a 6'4 Guard from Waverton, NSW. Last year he averaged 14.5ppg 8.5rpg 2.3spg while shooting 45% from 3 at Combine Academy.

Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say about Josh, "45% from 3...this kid is a SHOOTER!! Josh is a heady player that is also a great rebounding guard. I am excited to watch Josh build off of what he does best."

Poet Davis is a 6' Shooting Guard from Minneapolis, MN. This past season he helped lead Minneapolis South to a State Tournament appearance for the first time in 32 years. He averaged 19.4ppg 4.4rpg 3.0apg. Poet shot 50% from the field and 49% from three.

Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say about Poet, "He is a leader & a competitor. Leading South to a State Tournament appearance for the first time in 32 years is an amazing accomplishment. The kid is a skilled offensive player and a dead 3!"

Remy Davis Warrington is a 6'1 Guard from Sydney, NSW. He averaged 24ppg 7apg 10rpg last season.

Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say about Remy, "Remy is aa high IW player that has a great feel for the game. He is a skilled all around player that finds ways to impact the game in more than just scoring."

Albert Wellington is a 6' Guard from St. Paul, MN. During his senior season at Humboldt, he averaged 20.5ppg 4.8rpg 4.8apg 3.6spg. Albert was an all conference selection and a career 1000pt scorer.

Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say about Albert, "Albert is a player who can really fill it up. He was asked to do a lot of different things throughout his high school career. I love his versatility and how hard he plays."

Alvin Payne is a 6'1 Guard from Blaine, MN. During his senior year at Blaine he averaged 21.7ppg 6.3rpg 5.2apg 1.4spg while shooting 57% from the field!

Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say about Albert, "This dude can go! He is a downhill player and when he gets going to the rim he is tough to stop. i love how competitive he is."

Akok Ajou is a 6'6 Wing/Forward from Alberta, CAN. Last year he played for Western Canada Prep where he helped lead them to a 27-13 record and a semi final finish at the TN Championship in Toronto. 

Head Coach jared Marshall had this to say about Akok, "He is a standout player that has impressive scoring versatility. Akok has the ability to score inside and outside. He provides a presence with his size and athleticism."

These 11 players will join the 5 returners on the 2024-2025 Royals basketball team. Headllined by returning All Conference big man Ginuwine Tropnas who averaged 9.9ppg 8.5rpg 1.0apg & 1.9bpg. Ginuwine capped his standout freshman season by finishing nationally 29th in blocks, 26th in defensive rebounds, 41st in total rebounds and 45th in rebounds per game. He is flanked by Mitch Leas 6.6ppg on 39% 3FG, Isaac Warhurst 1.9ppg, mat Mudingay 3.0ppg, Alvin Jones Jr 2.8ppg.

Marshall had this to say overall, "I like how this roster has shaped up this off season. We have some guys that can really score it in our recruiting class. A glaring need for us after last season was we needed to address the guard position and get some ballhandlers. We turned it over 18.2 times per game last year. I believe with the guys we brought in, we have addressed that issue and we should clean that number up this year. Our other issue was we struggled from behind the arc. We shot 30.2% from 3 as a team. I believe we have multiple guys that are going to make us better in that department in this class." He continued, "Size will be a little bit of an issue this year. It is something that we will have to have some guys step up and play bigger. However, I believe we are a more versatile team defensively with this roster."

Official practice for the Royals begins Oct 1st. They'll take the court for the first time on October 6th at the ICCAC Juco Jamboree. The first game will be Nov. 1st vs. NDSCS. 7pm in New Town, ND.
