Men's Basketball: Fall in their opening 3 games of conference play in 2024.
Streaks seem to be the theme of the Royals basketball season. After riding a 3 game win streak heading into the conference season, the Lake Region State College Men’s Basketball team has dropped their opening 3 games of conference play in 2024.
Against Bismarck State the score was 68-50 in favor of the Mystics. Ginuwine Tropnas and Blessed Barhayiga led the Royals with 10pts each. Tropnas added in 12rebs and Barhayiga with 7rebs.
In an exciting game against DCB at a packed Woodshed, LRSC came up short to the Jacks 79-69. Ginuwine Tropnas led the Royals with 14pts and 15rebs. Harrison Raynor, Noah Bonick and Blessed Barhayiga all scored 13pts.
Against UTTC the Royals came up short against the Thunderbirds 86-81. Five Royals hit double figures led by Ginuwine Tropnas scoring 16pts and having 10rebs. Harrison Raynor stuffed the stat column with 14pts 8rebs and 6ast. Drew Bordeaux dropped 13pts and Noah Bonick and Blessed Barhayiga had 10pts each.
Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say about the games, “I think we have been playing really hard. Our effort, our energy has been good. It’s frustrating because I know how hard these guys are working and to just keep losing close ones is tough. If we can just fix the little things, I think we are going to be alright. As a team, if we continue to fight and believe, we will be alright.”
The Royals are now 6-13 (2-8) with their next game being at home against NDSCS on January 24th.
