The Lake Region State College Men's Basketball team heads into the winter break 4-10. They will now have a two week stretch off before returning at the end of December to prepare for their January 5th game vs. Jamestown JV.

The Royals have also had some tough conference battles that did not go their way in losses to NDSCS 59-57 & DCB 68-60. LRSC also dropped conference games to UTTC 88-74, MCC 83-63 and a non conference game to Northwest in Powell, WY 78-56.
During that stretch, Lake Region has been led by the play of sophomores Blessed Barhayiga 13.6ppg 7.9rpg & Noah Bonick 10.8ppg 4.2ppg. While newcomers Mitch Leas 9ppg, shooting 40% from 3 and Ginuwine Tropnas 9.0ppg 8.5rpg 1.8bpg have also stepped up their efforts.
Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say about the first half of the year, "So far this first semester we've been in a lot of good games. Some have gone our way, others haven't. The biggest thing right now for us is consistency. Can we be a consistent team every game for 40 minutes. We have played some really good basketball for stretches. Our defensive effort this semester has been strong. We are doing a nice job on that end. If we can clean up our turnovers that is going to help us tremendously. Those are free possessions we can not give other teams. Another bright spot has been the contributions from a lot of different players so far this year. I look forward to seeing what the 2nd half of our season can bring."
The Royals will open up the second part of their season on the road against Jamestown JV on January 5th. Then you can catch them at home on January 7th vs. Jamestown JV.
