Game 1:
Lake Region State College Royals watched the game slip away early and could not recover in an 11-0 loss to Miles City Community College on Saturday. MCC scored on a sacrifice fly by #9 and a single by #27 in the first inning. The Lake Region State College Royals struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing MCC, giving up 11 runs. MCC opened up scoring in the first inning, when #9's sac fly scored one run for MCC. One bright spot for Lake Region State College Royals Varsity was a single by Tarick Morris in the fourth inning. #17 got the win for MCC. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out nine and walking one. Blake Patterson took the loss for Lake Region State College Royals. He surrendered nine runs on six hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four. MCC hit two home runs on the day. #9 had a dinger in the fourth inning. #24 went deep in the fourth inning. In the second #34's sac fly scored one run for MCC and #9 singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs. MCC scored eight runs in the fourth inning. The big inning for MCC came thanks to singles by #20 and #4, a groundout by #9, a fielder's choice by #34, an error on a ball put in play by #2, and a double by #6. #24 took the win for MCC. He allowed three hits and four runs over five innings, striking out ten. Rylie Goodwin took the loss for Lake Region State College Royals. He went three innings, allowing nine runs on seven hits and striking out five. Kyler Halverson, Robert Nickell, and James Sampson-keck each collected one hit to lead Lake Region State College Royals.

Lake Region State College Royals fell behind early and could not come back in an 11-1 loss to Miles City Community College on Sunday. MCC scored on a double by #34 and a wild pitch during #27's at bat in the first inning. The Lake Region State College Royals struggled to contain the high-powered offense of MCC, giving up 11 runs. In the first inning, MV got their offense started when #34 doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. MCC scored four runs in the fourth inning. MCC offense in the inning was led by #4 and #25, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. #22 was the winning pitcher for MCC. He surrendered one run on three hits over five innings, striking out four. Liam Sommer took the loss for Lake Region State College Royals. He went three innings, allowing nine runs on six hits and striking out three. MCC socked two home runs on the day. #4 went yard in the fourth inning. #27 went deep in the third inning. Adrian Rodriguez, Alex Jinda, and Tarick Morris each collected one hit to lead Lake Region State College Royals. Lake Region State College Royals was sure-handed and did not commit a single error. MCC scored on a passed ball during #4's at bat and a walk by #24 in the first inning. The Lake Region State College Royals struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing MCC, giving up 26 runs. In the first inning, MCC got their offense started when Carson Heroux threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for MCC. MCC scored nine runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower by MCC was led by #34, #27, #1, and #2, who each had RBIs in the inning. #9 earned the win for MCC. He went five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out five. Heroux took the loss for Lake Region State College Royals. He allowed six hits and 11 runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one. MCC mashed two home runs on the day. #34 went deep in the second inning. #27 had a homer in the second inning. James Sampson-keck led Lake Region State College Royals with two hits in two at bats. MCC racked up 17 hits. #9, #24, and #1 all collected multiple hits for MCC. MCC was sure-handed and did not commit a single error. #24 made the most plays with four.
Head Coach Kyal Williams said, "It was a very tough weekend and something that will be our biggest learning curve for the year. We know as a playing group what it is going to take to compete against Miles City, what we need to improve on as a team and individually to take that next step. That weekend is over we look towards another tough team in Bismarck State."
