The Lake Region State College Royals Baseball team took the field against Bismarck State College in a MonDak conference game yesterday. It was a tough day for the Royals at home vs #18 Bismarck State. The bats just never came to life for LRSC. The Royals had opportunities early in game one to put some runs on the board to keep the pressure on Bismarck but could not capitalize with clutch hitting. The BSC pitchers kept the Royals batters guessing all day as they threw strikes and limited the Royals to 8 hits on the day. Head Basketball Coach Kyal Williams said, "We have been right in every game this year just need to get the monkey off their backs and break through that barrier."
Cesar Bernal, Ryan Alain and Bridger Urban efforts on the mound were exactly what the Royals needed to give them a fighting chance. They threw strikes and mixed up pitches to keep the hitters off balance. Unfortunately the Royals defense and offense could not back their strong efforts and lost both games 0-5 and 0-9. Austin Doris and Jared Gesell were the shining light in the offense gain multiple hits on the day.
Big two weekends coming up Vs Dawson Community College and College of Bottineau.
