Women's Hockey Earns 1st Program Sweep over ACHA D1 Montana State
LRSC Women's Hockey earned their 1st sweep in program history over ACHA D1 foe Montana State. The Royals are proud of their accomplishment and are clicking at the right time coach Kraft shared.
Friday night the Royals skated to a 5-1 win over the Bobcats and did not look back. There was a ton of scoring for the Royals over the weekend, and many players found the back of the net. Sophomore forward Ashton Fogelman recorded a 3 point night, Freshmen forward Paytin Copeland notched her first career college goal and recorded a total of 3 points. Sophomore forward Vivianna Kraft recorded a 2 points, freshmen Julia Pic had a 2 points, and Anika Moroz stopped 32 of 33.
Saturday night was no different as the Royals struck early and kept on the pressure. Sophomore Ashton Fogelman had a 4 points, Sophomore Vivianna Kraft has a 3 points, and Freshmen Defensemen Raelle Redford had notched two big goals in each game. Anika Moroz stopped 30 of 31 helping the Royals to a 7-1 win.
"I feel this will help our program continue to climb the rankings. As we currently sit 7th in the rankings. We are doing a lot of good things and are continuing to develop as a team. Everyone is figuring out their roles and it is really showing with great performances. It was a long road trip for our girls, but they showed up and got the job done. I am proud of their work ethic, and excited to see what we can continue to do" Kraft shared.
The Royals are back in action for their final game of the first semester on December 9th when they travel to Bottineau to faceoff with DCB. Puck drop is 3:00 pm.
