Women's Hockey: Battle hard but fall to the Jimmies.
The Lake Region State College Women’s Hockey program returned to action on Saturday January 20th, vs. The University of Jamestown. The Royals battled the Jimmies in the 1st and the 3rd period with newcomer Morgan Settee getting her first goal in her first game for the blue. However, the 2nd period was tough for LRSC and Jamestown ended up taking it by the final score of 5-1.
Interim Head Coach Brady Stein said this about the game, “If we could just have that 2nd period back. I thought we skated with them all night. As a team we were tough, had great energy, we just made some mistakes in the 2nd period that led to opportunities for Jamestown.”
Abby Stewart-Fromm started in the net for the Royals and made it tough on the Jimmies all night.
Coach Stein went on to say, “We have a couple big road trips coming up against Maryville & NDSU. If we continue to work together on the ice and come together, we are going to be a hard team to beat the second half of this season.”
The Royals are now 4-9 on the season and their next game will be Friday February 2nd at Maryville University. You can catch them back at home on February 17th, where they will take on Pilot Mound Academy.
