The Lake Region State College Men’s Hockey team has returned from break on a 3 game heater with a win over MSUM and a sweep of #6 NDSU.
The Lake Region State College Men’s Hockey team has returned from break on a 3 game heater with a win over MSUM and a sweep of #6 NDSU.
On Friday,January 12th, the Royals traveled to Moorhead MN to take on MSUM. It would be all Royals that night, as they blanked the Dragons 6-0.
On January 21st & 22nd, LRSC was on the road for a pair of games against #6 North Dakota State. Lake Region road the momentum of their first game and swept the Bison. The score was 4-2 on Sunday night and then on Monday, they got the win 4-1.
Getting the win in net first game for the Royals was Rowan Cherkas, his first career win in his first career start. In net the second game was Myles Ganske.
Goal scorers in game one, Brody Steinmetz found the back of the net twice, Alex Gellner and Brady Wicklund chipped in one each.
In game two, it was a well rounded game as Matthew Besse, Kaleb Hodny, Kaeden Siwak and Brady Wiklund each scored.
Interim Head Coach Brady Stein said after the weekend, “What a great weekend for our guys. We took control early in both games and never took our foot off the pedal. I am happy with our overall effort. We shared the puck well all weekend, our defense was tough and Rowan and Myles were great in net for us.”
LRSC is now 6-12 on the season. Their next game will be at Williston State College on February 26th. You can catch them back at home on February 15th vs. DCB.
