LRSC Men’s Signs Two Manitoba Defensemen
Phoenix Duncan is a 2005 born defensemen from Brandon, Manitoba. He had committed to playing for the Royals this coming fall in 2023. The 6’2 195-pound standout played in the WHSHL for the past 2 seasons with the Vincent Massey Vikings. Phoenix will bring a ton of contributions with him but what really stands out his ability to push a steady pace, smooth skating, and has a great offensive touch.
“I am excited to get started and compete right away from the first day. I am very grateful that Lake Region and Coach Kraft welcomed me with open arms, and the opportunity to play competitive hockey while getting my education was always a top priority for me” Phoenix stated.
“Phoenix will be a huge corner stone for our Men’s program. He is offensive minded but is also very aware in the D-zone. He will bring patience and the ability to contribute to the offensive side of things” Kraft shared.

Cooper Penner is 2005 defensemen from Steinbach, Manitoba. Cooper has committed to playing for the Royals this coming fall in 2023. Cooper played for Steinbach this past season and found success with their organization. Cooper has played there the last 2 seasons and has found success on the blue line for them. Cooper will bring size, work ethic, great puck possession skills, and great passing.

“Cooper will add great depth to the Blueline for the Royals and will play a physical game. He is a standout hockey player and young man. I enjoyed getting to know him and I am very excited to see what he will do here at Lake Region State College” Kraft shared.
