Bio

A native of Greeley, CO, Jared Marshall just finished his eighth season as Head Coach of the Lake Region State College Royals. This will be Marshall’s tenth year overall after spending one year on the bench as an assistant. The Royals have a 124-120 overall record. He has also coached 12 players that have been named All-MonDak Conference, 10 that have been named All-Region XIII and 1 All-American. Along with the on court recognition there has also been 23 players honored with NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards and 47 players named MonDak Academic All-Conference. The Royals basketball team has also been named as an NJCAA All-Academic team four times. The team finished 5th nationally in 2017 & 2022, 19th in 2018 and 8th in 2019 for team GPA in all of the NJCAA.

The 2021-22 season the Royals finished 40th in the nation in field goal percentage and 45th in FT made per game. The Royals also dished out the assists finishing 44th in assists per game. The Royals also reclaimed the top defensive spot in the conference for the second consecutive year to go along with a 23rd place finish in opponent 3FG%, 53rd in opponent FG% & points per game allowed which was 68.8ppg.

Before Lake Region, Marshall spent two seasons, 2012-2014, as the Graduate Assistant at the University of Mary, where he received his Master’s degree in Human Performance and Athletic Administration. Prior to that he served as head boys basketball coach at Frontier Academy High School in Greeley, CO. Marshall took over the program when he was 23 years old and directed the team to a conference championship and a state playoff appearance. He was also named Frontier Conference Coach of the Year in 2011.

He started his coaching career at Greeley Central High School as an assistant football (2007-11) and assistant basketball coach (2007-2010).

On top of his coaching duties, Marshall also serves as Athletic Director and is happily married to his wife Meghan.
