Bio

A native of Greeley, CO, Jared Marshall is heading into his eleventh year overall at Lake Region State. For the past two and a half years he has served as Athletic Director and has been the Head Men's Basketball Coach for nine seasons. Before being named the Athletic Director in 2021, he has served in various roles at LRSC such as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, HPER Faculty and the Assistant Athletic Director.

As Athletic Director, Marshall was integral in starting the Men's & Women's Hockey Programs during the 2023-2024 season. He oversees all five NJCAA programs and three club sports at LRSC. 

The Royals have a 133-142 overall record in Marshall's time as Head Men's Basketball Coach. He has also coached 14 players that have been named All-MonDak Conference, 11 that have been named All-Region XIII and 1 All-American in Clarence Daniels. Along with the on court recognition there has also been 28 players honored with NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards and 55 players named MonDak Academic All-Conference. The Royals basketball team has also been named as an NJCAA All-Academic team six times. The team finished 5th nationally in 2017 & 2022, 8th in 2019, 15th in 2024, 19th in 2018, and 33rd in 2023 for team GPA in all of the NJCAA. During his time as Head Coach, Marshall's teams have broken 3 school records: 2015-2016 Best Free Throw % 75.1% | Least Points by an Opponent 34 by UTTC Feb 28th, 2021 | Most Points Single Game 137 vs. TMCC 2019-2020.

Before Lake Region, Marshall spent two seasons, 2012-2014, as the Graduate Assistant at the University of Mary, where he received his Master’s degree in Human Performance and Athletic Administration. Prior to that he served as head boys basketball coach at Frontier Academy High School in Greeley, CO. Marshall took over the program when he was 23 years old and directed the team to a conference championship and a state playoff appearance. He was also named Frontier Conference Coach of the Year in 2011.

He started his coaching career at Greeley Central High School as an assistant football (2007-11) and assistant basketball coach (2007-2010).

He is happily married to his wife Meghan and they have a daughter, McKynlee.
