Jamison Nelson Earns Mon-Dak Player of the Week Honors
Lake Region State College freshman first baseman/designated hitter Jamison Nelson has been named the Mon-Dak Athletic Conference Player of the Week after an outstanding performance in four games last week. The Mandan, North Dakota native had an impressive showing at the plate, helping his team to a strong start in conference play.
Over the course of the week, Nelson, a 6-foot freshman, tallied 16 plate appearances across 4 games, registering 5 hits in 14 at-bats for a .357 batting average. His standout performance featured 3 home runs, 8 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. He also walked once and was hit by a pitch. Nelson's slugging percentage for the week was an eye-popping 1.000, showing his ability to make an impact with every swing.
After the opening weekend of conference play, Nelson is tied for the lead in the Mon-Dak for home runs, RBIs, and slugging percentage.
"Jamison's energy is contagious," said LRSC head baseball coach Steven Anderson. "When he's on top of his game, he brings a different level of intensity and excitement to the team. His power at the plate is a huge asset, but it's his overall enthusiasm and focus that can really energize the rest of the guys."
As the season progresses, Jamison Nelson will certainly be one to watch as he looks to build on his early success and continue making waves in the Mon-Dak Athletic Conference.
