Lake Region State College Royals Basketball Players Earn Mon-Dak All-Conference Honors
Three student-athletes from Lake Region State College have been recognized for their exceptional performances during the 2024-2025 basketball season, earning Mon-Dak All-Conference honors. Following the Royals' elimination in the Region XIII semifinals, Bronson Chambers was named to the First Team, while Alvin Payne and Ginuwine Tropnas were selected for the Second Team.
Bronson Chambers - First Team All-Conference
A sophomore guard from Ontario, Canada, Bronson Chambers made an immediate impact in his first season with the Royals. Previously playing at CSU Monterey Bay before joining Lake Region State College, Chambers played in all 31 games this season. The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 14.3 points per game, ranking 12th in the conference, and was also a key contributor on the boards, averaging 5.3 rebounds per game (15th in the conference). Chambers' all-around play helped elevate the Royals this season, and his recognition as a First Team selection is a testament to his hard work and leadership on the court.
Alvin Payne - Second Team All-Conference
Freshman guard Alvin Payne, a native of Blaine, Minnesota, made an impressive debut with the Royals in the 2024-2025 season. Payne started 20 of 31 games and averaged 11.4 points per game, ranking 22nd in the conference. His versatility was evident as he also contributed 3.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Payne's standout performances in his first season with the Royals earned him a spot on the Second Team, marking a strong start to what promises to be an exciting career at Lake Region State College.
Ginuwine Tropnas - Second Team All-Conference
Ginuwine Tropnas, a sophomore forward from Montreal, Canada, had a stellar season for the Royals, earning Second Team honors for the second consecutive year. Tropnas averaged 13.8 points per game, ranking 15th in the conference, while also ranking third in rebounds with an impressive 8.8 per game. His dominance on the defensive end was highlighted by his 46 blocks this season, bringing his career total to 105—setting a new school record. Tropnas' continued growth and contributions on both ends of the court made him one of the standout players for the Royals this season.
The Royals finished the season with a 16-16 record, a significant improvement from the previous two years. While the team faced challenges in the Region XIII semifinals, the individual performances of Chambers, Payne, and Tropnas were pivotal in the team's success. Freshman Poet Davis, who led the Royals with 15.5 points per game, was also in the conversation for an all-conference spot but was limited by an injury that caused him to miss several games.
