Royals Volleyball Signs Madison Samuelson
The Royals Volleyball team is excited to announce their first signing for the 2025 Recruiting Class. Madison Samuelson, an outside hitter from Searles, North Dakota, has been a varsity player since her 8th-grade year and started in her freshman year. Throughout her career, she has amassed some very impressive stats and awards. Madi had 1,301 kills, 91 blocks, 1,576 digs, 56 set assists, and 190 service aces throughout her career. She was awarded the MVP of her team her freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons, was awarded captain since her sophomore season, and has been named her team's ACE (attitude, coachability, effort) and Spark Plug awards. On top of her team awards, she has also been recognized by the area coaches by being placed on the Region 4 All-Region team her sophomore through senior seasons. She was named the Region 4 Outstanding Senior Athlete during her senior season. Additionally, she has been placed on the Academic All-Region team for the past 5 years.
When asked why she chose to continue her academic and athletic career at LRSC, Madi said: "I'm excited to join the Lake Region State College community and embark on this new chapter of academic, athletic, and personal growth. Playing for the Royals Volleyball team allows me to pursue my passion for volleyball while continuing my education. This opportunity allows me to compete at a higher level, create connections with my peers, and build character. The education and experiences I will gain at LRSC will be the foundation for my future career and personal aspirations."
Coach Waddell is very excited that Madi has decided to become a Royal, and he has this to say about Madi: "I first watched Madi play during her freshman season, and the minute I saw her on the court, I knew that she was the type of player that I wanted wearing Royals blue. She is an extremely dynamic outside hitter who can score. She plays tenacious defense, passes very well in serve receive, and plays with an unmatched intensity. On top of her HIGH level of volleyball skills, Madi is just a wonderful person. Her respect for the game, her teammates, her opponents, and her coaches is impressive, and I know that she will thrive in our environment. I have had the privilege to work with Madi at various camps throughout the years, and she has also been a member of our Club Volleyball team. During that time, she has impressed me every day. Madi is already a great volleyball player, but I'm confident she will continue to grow and become an even better college volleyball player. To say that I am excited to coach Madi would be an understatement! She is also very strong in the classroom, an attribute that we, as coaches, look for in our incoming players! The recruiting process has been such an amazing experience. I have enjoyed getting to know Madi's parents and sister throughout the process, and I am confident that she will transition to Royals Volleyball seamlessly."
The Royals family is getting a great addition to the academic and athletic departments with the addition of Madison Samuelson, and we couldn't be more excited for her to join us on campus in the fall of 2025.
