Volleyball Takes Down DCB for Conference Victory
The Lake Region State College Royals Volleyball team traveled to Bottineau, ND to take on Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks in a MonDak Conference matchup.
The Lake Region State College Royals Volleyball team traveled to Bottineau, ND to take on Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks in a MonDak Conference matchup. The Royals played an all-around solid match that led to their first conference win of the year.
In the first set the Royals jumped out to an early lead and never gave it up. They won the first set 25-22. The Jacks came out in the second set and jumped out to an early lead forcing the Royals to take a time out. The Royals couldn't get over the hump and get back in it, DCB took the second set 25-17. After that it was all Lake Region as they came out of the locker room fired up cruising to a 25-15 win in the 3rd set. The Jacks wouldn't go down easy and after a hard fought 4th set the Royals pulled out a 26-24 victory, winning the match 3 sets to 1.
A few stats for Lake Region, Hannah Swartz had 40 assists, Katie Dufner had 14 kills, Hannah Hextall had 5 aces and 18 digs. Head Coach Brigitte Greywater said, "Our leaders rose up. The ladies came together and made it happen. The expectation was directed by the team and they went out and got it done."
The Royals are back in action Wednesday night, Oct. 5th vs. NDSCS. Game time is 7pm at Sweetwater. ND National Guard will be the tailgate sponsor and that will start at 5:30. It will also be Samaritans Feet night where Head Coach Brigitte Greywater will be coaching the game barefoot. We will be taking donations of $10 or a new pair of shoes at the game to be distributed for Samaritans Feet.
