Royals to Have Two Represent at the NJCAA All-Star Game
The Lake Region State College Lady Royals basketball team will have two representatives playing in the annual NJCAA All-Star game.
The Lake Region State College Lady Royals basketball team will have two representatives playing in the annual NJCAA All-Star game.
Returning freshman, Maara Nelson and Maggie Gilbert, will represent LRSC at the game. Maara Nelson, a 5'9 guard from Carrington, ND averaged 12.8ppg, 6.7rpg, 3.7apg 3.6spg while shooting 44% from the field and 35% from 3. She was also named 2nd team All-MonDak Conference and All Region XIII. Maggie Gilbert, a 6'2 center from Gloucestershire, Englad averaged 7.0ppg, 4.7rpg 1.4apg while shooting 50% from the field.
Head Coach Danny Mertens said, "It is a wonderful honor for these girls to get to represent LRSC at the NJCAA All-Star game. It is such a great event. This is the third year in a row we have had players in the game and I am very proud of these two for all their hard work."
The event will be held in Atlanta, GA on July 27th-29th.
