LRSC Softball starts season off with a win
The Royals softball team played two games on Saturday February 20th in Aberdeen, SD at the Presentation College Sports Dome.

The Royals softball team played two games on Saturday February 20th in Aberdeen, SD at the Presentation College Sports Dome. In game one against Valley City State University - JV ended in dramatic fashion with a 3 run 7th inning to pull out the win 4-3. In the game, Mackenzie Sansom pitched a complete game giving up 3 runs, 2 of them earned, off of ten hits, and she had 6 strikeouts. VSCU started out quickly scoring 2 runs in the first but Sansom settled down and holding Vikings from VCSU to only one more run, a homerun in the top of the 7th. In the bottom of the 7th 2 past balls scored Jade Ledochowski and Kristen Hutto to tie the game up. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Hanna Gary hit a single into left scoring Courtney Fines from 3rd for the winning run. For the Game, Jade Ledochowski had 2 singles, Mackenzie Sansom had a double, and Kiahna Chumola and Kristen Hutto each had a single.
In the second game of the night, the Royals played the JV from the University of Jamestown. Jamestown jumped out to a quick 2 run lead in the 1st off of pitcher Hanna Gary then another 8 runs in the 3rd. The Royals scored 3 runs in the 3rd when Hanna Gary launched a homerun blast over the left field fence scoring Emma Gary and Haunani Morton who both had walked previously. In the 4th inning Jamestown scored one run and the Royals scored 3 more runs off of a 2 run homerun by Hanna Gary scoring Emma Gary who doubled prior scoring Courtney Fines. The final score ended with Jamestown winning 13-6. For the game, Hanna Gary went 3 for 3 with 2 homeruns and 5 RBI's, Emma Gary went 1for 2 with a double and 1 RBI, Kiahna Chumola and Jade Ledochowski each had a hit.
