Coming off a convincing win over Miles Wednesday night, the Lake Region State College Royals were feeling pretty good heading into their road trip. The would travel to Williston State College and Dawson Community College with a chance to solidify themselves in the top of the conference and possibly make some moves.
They would be unable to capitolize on the opportunity and fall in both games.
Williston would come out hot and shoot 63% from the field and 60% from three to defeat the Royals. Despite a late push and 55 second half it was too little too late. The Tetons 108 Royals 86. Lamarr Wood would score 21 points and record 8 rebounds while Jordan Lynn would score 18 points and pull in 7 rebounds.
The road would get the better of Lake Region State on Sunday. Playing their third game in 5 days the Royals would struggle to muster up anything throughout. Scoring a season low 46 points shooting 25% from the field and from three, LRSC would never cut it to less than 12 points in the second half.
Dalton Prouty would lead the Royals with 11 points.
Head Coach Jared Marshall would say after the game, "It was a tough road trip for us. Williston State shot the ball very well and got hot. Dawson was just the tougher team on Sunday. Our consistency just is not there right now. We need to be more consistent as individuals and as a team. There are 4 games left before the playoffs, we need to prepare ourselves and have a great week of practice."
The Royals are now 18-9 on the season (6-3) in conference. They will be back in action Thursday night against United Tribes.
