Late Threes Sink Royals

It was one of those nights the Lake Region State College Royals wish you could have a do over. Taking on United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, LRSC just never found their groove throughout the game.
Tribes would come out and start off hot leading 25-9 early. The Royals would come roaring back to tie it before a late Rob McClain layup at the buzzer gave Tribes a 40-38 lead at half. Coming out of the locker room, Lake Region would take an early second half lead. Foul trouble would keep the Royals leading scorer, Lamarr Wood, on the bench for most of the second half. When that happened, they would struggle to find their offensive identitity. Jayden Komrosky would try and pick up the slack with 12pts going 4-8 from behind the arc. Rob McClain and Montel Carlow would nail three big threes down the stretch with two minutes to go to give the Thunderbirds the lead and the game. The final, UTTC 82 LRSC 71.
The Royals would suffer their first conference loss of the season falling to 4-1 in the MonDak and 16-6 overall. Head Coach Jared Marshall said after the game, "We just never seemed to find our rhythm offensively tonight. Every time we tried to get over the hump, we could not. A poor offensive performance, foul trouble and big nights from a few guys from Tribes did us in."
LRSC continues its road swing Monday night when they take on NDSCS.
