The Royals came into the game looking to make a strong statement early and they did jumping out to a 14-0 lead to start the game. Throughout most of the first half, the Royals lead by double digits but a late run by the Jacks cut the lead to 43-35 right before half. DCB used 12 first half-offensive rebounds to keep themselves in the game. In the second, the Jacks continued to fight to keep it close. However, two monster dunks by Lamarr Wood and a Jordan Bolton 3 pushed the lead to 15 for Lake Region. DCB would make a run of their own to get back in it and with under 4 minutes to go cut the lead to 4. That was as close as they would get, LRSC would end the game on a 15-8 run to close it out and get the win 95-84. Cedric Boone led all scorers with a big night going for 31 points, making 9 threes and recording 7 assists. Nik Fassos added 22 points to the mix and Jordan Bolton filled up the stat line once again with 11 points 7 rebounds and 8 assists.
Head Coach Jared Marshall said after the game, "That was a big road win for us tonight. The shed is never an easy place to play. We had a great start and led wire to wire which was very impressive. We had a few times where they made runs but we never panicked. I liked our 25 assists and only 11 turnovers against a team that likes to pressure you. That made a difference tonight."
With the win the Royals move to 16-8 (4-2) on the season. Next up, they travel to Bismarck, ND on Thursday to take on Bismarck State College.
