The Lake Region State College women's and men's basketball teams suffered Mon-Dak Conference losses Thursday at Bismarck State College.
The men lost 85-79.
After finding ways to win close games, the Royals came up short in their 85-79 loss.
"Our inconsistencies really cost us tonight," LRSC head coach Jared Marshall said. "Some mental lapses on defense led to easy buckets for them, we have to stay locked in for 40 minutes."
Melvin Collins (33 points) and Scott Nagel (25 points) carried the Mystics.
For the Royals, AJ Nywesh had 22 points and five assists. Tom Kubank scored 20 along with 10 rebounds. Ryan Clark also had a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
LRSC is now 18-6 and 3-3 in conference play.
"We've been in so many of these games, I kept expecting for us to make our run get on top and close it out," Marshall said. "We just couldn't do it, they matched every run."
The Royals host Williston State College at 4 p.m Sunday in the Sports Center.
