The Lake Region State College men's basketball team lost to Williston in a game that saw the Royals allow 50 points in the second half.
"You can't give up 50 points in a half on the road against a good team like Williston and expect to win," said Royals head coach Jared Marshall. "We weren't locked in defensively and let our offensive struggles affect us on the defensive end."
Dawson Peterson had 18 points and six rebounds, while AJ Nywesh also contributed 18 points. Ryan Clark logged a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
"I thought we got a great effort out of sophomore Peterson tonight," said Marshall. "He shot it at a high percentage, rebounded very well and played tough against a very physical team."
The Royals take on Dawson Sunday at home. "We need to have a couple good days of practice before our game against Dawson on Sunday. We have to protect our home court. We can play better and we will," said Marshall.
The Royals are 15-4 on the season after the loss.
