Royals Go 1-1 on the Weekend

The Royals volleyball team traveled to Minnesota on Saturday to take Bethany Lutheran JV and DCTC.

The month of September was rough on LRSC. Saturday's games would be their eighth and ninth on the road for the month. In the first game against DCTC, road weariness took its toll. Despite jumping out to a two set lead winning 25-17 and 26-24, Lake Region could not hold on. In set three DCTC made its run 25-20. Then in set four, there were multiple times the Royals tried to clinch the match but the Blue Knights would rebuff them every time winning 27-25. Set five DCTC would control it from the very first serve winning 15-10, taking the match 3-2.

Game two on the day sqaured the Royals off against Bethany Lutheran JV. LRSC regrouped and made short work of them. They dominated set one 25-11. Set two was a little closer but Lake Region prevailed 25-19. Finally, set three was not much of a contest as the Royals took in 25-14 for a 3-0 match win.

Head Coach Brigitte Greywater said after the game, "We learned a ton today! Lost one, won one. We made some changes after our first game. This allowed us to handle accountability and change our mindset going into set two. We are feeling good heading into our match Wednesday night versus BSC. We have a plan for the future, it is time to go out and execute it."

The Lady Royals are now 6-14 (1-3) on the year and finish up a long September on the road with one more match against Bismarck State in Bismarck, ND. This MonDak Conference game will be played Wednesday September 25th, at 7:00pm.
