TBC no match for the Royals

There's an aspect in coaching that is just as important as the X's and O's but is often times forgotten when grades are represented as points on a scoreboard. Lake Region State College's head coach Brigitte Greywater used the Royals match against Trinity Bible College as a late season classroom session.
"We're becoming confident in running a faster offense and not a slower offense and you can see that by making the changes I made," Greywater said who didn't start her typical six. "That is what we're practicing every single day in the gym so we're executing and it doesn't matter who is on the floor."
The performance showed. The Royals (15-6) defeated the Lions 25-16, 25-10 and 25-18 Wednesday night from the Sports Center. LRSC completed the home-and-home sweep of Trinity Bible, after beating the Lions 3-0 back on September 10th in Ellendale.
"It (the match) went great," Greywater said.
After easily dropping the first two sets, Trinity Bible (2-13) had some things go its way in the third set. The Lions built a two-point lead early but with the set tied at 4, the Royals scored three consecutive points to take a 7-4 lead. The Lions rallied to regain the advantage at 10-8 but a kill by Jexley Porrata was the first of two straight for LRSC that tied the set again. Trinity led at 16-15 but a Fabianne Besosa kill put the Royals ahead 17-16 for good.
The Royals ended the match on a 9-2 run.
"I want people to build confidence and experience. I want the Royals to know that anybody can step on the court and win."
Continued Greywater, "[The starters] needed to see the things that they need to work on, to also look at the defense from a different point of view. We pride ourselves on being a defensive team but mentally you'll always make a mistake here or there so you get to see it and analyze it in a different role."
Both Besosa and Sydney Hertlein had 10 kills apiece, Emma Poehls had 23 digs and Precious Rawlins and 39 assists to lead the Royals.
