MonDak Leading Mystics down Royals

The Lake Region State College Lady Royals Volleyball team traveled to Bismarck, ND to take on the MonDak leading Bismarck State College Mystics. Coming into the game the Royals were 3-22 (0-7) while Bismarck State was sporting a 19-7 (7-1) record.

Early in the first set LRSC was hanging right with them to begin the match with it all tied up at 5. After it was all Mystics they finished the set on a 20-5 run. The final of the first set BSC 25 LRSC 10. The second set saw another strong start for the Royals as they hung tough with the Mystics knotting it at 5-5 once again. A run by BSC to take it to 14-7 forcing an LRSC timeout. The Royals hung tough with them the rest of the way but the damage had already been done. The final of the second set BSC 25 LRSC 15, Mystics took a 2-0 set lead. In the third set saw another solid start by the Royals. This kept them in it early however, BSC proved to be too much down the stretch once again taking the third set 25-13 and the match 3 sets to 0.

Head Coach Brigitte Greywater said, "We have struggled all year with our starts but tonight we were right there to begin with every set. We came out with energy and I was proud of that. We just weren't able to sustain that throughout the sets. BSC is a good volleyball team, you can't make mistakes down the stretch. They just took advantage of them." With the loss LRSC drops to 3-23 (0-8) on the year while Bismarck moves to 20-7 (8-1) holding on to the top spot in the MonDak.

The Royals look to regroup heading into a big weekend. Friday night 7pm at Sweetwater, the Royals are in action against Dawson CC. Come out and support your home team. Then Saturday and Sunday the Royals are proud to host the Sleep Inn Slamfest in which 10 teams will get to play 4 games in 2 days including your Royals. The Royals will play:
