Bio

Ryan Clark completed his 2nd season as head coach of Lake Region State College women’s basketball program after taking over the program in the Spring of 2022.

The Royals have finished with back-to-back 20-win seasons in Clark's first two seasons, finishing the two years with an overall record of 40-24. During those two season he has coached 5 players that have been named All-MonDak Conference, 3 that have been named All-Region XIII. Over the two seasons, Clark has had 5 Royals commit/signed to an NCAA program. (3 to NCAA Division I programs & 2 to NCAA Division II programs). Along with the on-court success, Clark's teams have had great success in the classroom, with the team’s overall GPA staying above 3.35.

Prior to Lake Region, Clark spent the previous season at Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D.. In Clark's one season at Northern, NSU earned an trip to the conference tournament quarterfinals after clinching a victory over South No.4 Augustana. Under his leadership, Forward Kailee Oliverson averaged 15.6points, 7.2 rebounds per game en route to garnering All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team Honors. Post Laurie Rogers averaged 10.4points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.79 blocks per game, earning her 9th in NCAA division II for blocks per game.  

A native of Adelaide Australia, Clark earned a Master of Science in Sports Management from Minot State University, Bachelor of Business Administration from Dickinson State University, and his Associate in Arts from Lake Region State College. While at LRSC (2014-2016), Clark set an LRSC record for most career rebounds. He averaged 13.5 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game during his LRSC career while helping the Royals to a 42-20 overall record. 

He was named to the All-Conference Academic Team 2014-15 and 2015-16; named All Conference/All Region during the 2015-2016 season; earned dean’s list honors each semester, and was an LRSC Who’s Who Award winner 2016.

After graduating from LRSC, Clark received a basketball scholarship from Dickinson State University where he played for two seasons from 2016-2018. Clark was selected as the 2017-2018 North Star Champion of Character while playing at Dickinson State University.

He was an assistant coach for Dickinson State’s men’s basketball team during the 2018-2019 season and was an enrollment specialist during his time as an assistant coach. From Dickinson State, Clark went to be an assistant coach for Minot State University women’s basketball team from 2019-2021. He served as interim head women’s basketball coach at Minot State for the final 3 weeks of the season in February/March 2021. For the last six games of the 2020-21 season, Minot finished with a 2-4 record under Clark leaderships; with victories over Minnesota State Moorhead and Northern State University, which broke a 13 game and 10 game losing streak respectively. 

Clark resides in Devils Lake with his wife, Sheridan and son, Finn.
