Lady Royals Open MonDak Play with Big Win Over DCB

On Thursday night, the Lake Region State College women's basketball team traveled to Bottineau, ND to take on the Dakota College Jacks. It would be the MonDak opener for the Royals.
From tipoff to the final whistle, the Lady Royals never trailed. They would use 23 steals to maintain control and dominate the pace of the game. They would hold the Jacks to 66 total points in the game. The defense was not the only impressive part for LRSC. It was a total team effort as they would share the ball selflessy, tallying 26 assists on 33 field goals. This would help them pull off an 85-66 win to open up MonDak play.
Jordan Worley would lead LRSC with 17 points and 4 assists, Dani Schwanke continues to be a spark off the bench with 15 points and Jadyn Pollert had 14 points and 7 rebounds.
Head Coach Danny Mertens said after the game, "That was a total team effort from start to finish out of the team tonight. I was proud of our effort top to bottom tonight. I thought Jadyn played one of her best games of the season, not just with scoring but rebounding and how well she protected the hoop. If we can continue to dictate pace we are going to be a tough team to beat."
The Lady Royals are now 13-5 (1-0) on the year and take on Dawson CC, Sunday 1pm at the sportscenter.
