Emily Schafer Signs with Valley City State University
Sophomore Guard, from Devils Lake, ND, Emily Schafer has signed a Letter of Intent to play at Valley City State University next season.
Sophomore Guard, from Devils Lake, ND, Emily Schafer, has signed a letter of intent to play at Valley City State University next season.
Schafer is a two-time All MonDak Conference selection for the Lady Royals. During her career at LRSC Emily averaged 12.3ppg, 5.2rpg, and 2.5apg while shooting 35.5 percent from the field and 33 percent from three.
Schafer said, "I am so grateful for getting to play college basketball in my hometown for two years after high school. My two years here have taught me a lot about basketball and about life. I have coaches, teachers, teammates, friends and family to thank for always supporting me. I am grateful for Coach Mertens for seeing potential in me, always believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be successful. Now, I get the chance to continue my education and basketball career at Valley City State University! I am very excited and cannot wait for this next chapter in my life."
She is joining a long line of Lady Royals basketball players that have gone on to play for the Vikings. VCSU is fresh off a national tournament berth and a 25-5 season. Valley City State University is an NAIA-member university located in Valley City, ND.
