Mystics Too Much for Royals
The Lake Region State College Royals basketball teams traveled to Bismarck State College to take on the Mystics.
The Lake Region State College Royals basketball teams traveled to Bismarck State College to take on the Mystics. It would not go well for either Royals teams as both ended up on the losing end of a tough MonDak Conference game.
The Lady Royals were paced by Steph Millers 23pts and Maara Nelsons 16pts 10rebs in their 92-72 loss to BSC. Holding on to a 16-15 first quarter lead, a big second quarter from the Mystics proved to be LRSC's undoing. Whenever the Lady Royals would make a run, BSC would answer or Lake Region would cost themselves with one of their 26 costly turnovers. With the loss the Lady Royals are now 18-11 (6-) on the year.
On the men's side, what seemed like a sure fire win with five minutes to go and a fourteen point lead evaporated before their eyes. Giving up 56 second half points, LRSC would fall to BSC 101-96. Led by Lamarr Woods 23pts 11rebs, Jordan Lynn chipped in 17pts, along with TJ Mickelson, Zac Olson and Dalton Prouty also with 12pts. With the loss the Royals are now 18-11 (6-6).
With two games to go the Royals will host NDSCS on Wednesday night at the sportscenter 630pm & 830pm.
Go Royals!
