On Sunday afternoon the Lake Region State College Royals basketball team took on the Concordia JV Cobbers.
Coming off a disappointing loss from earlier in the week the Royals were looking for something to turn up the tempo early. They found it in the form of a 2-2-1 press. Having not pressed all season, the Royals came out in one, causing 24 turnovers. This gave them a commanding 47-22 lead heading into half. LRSC would never look back in the second winning 87-52.
LRSC shared the ball well all game assisting on 29 of their 36 field goals. TJ Mickelson led the way with 20pts 6ast 3 stls. Lamarr wood continued his stellar play with 18pts and 7rebs.
Head Coach Jared Marshall said after the game, "I was happy with our overall effort and energy today. It was a complete 180 from Wednesday night. I thought our press was a big part of getting us going early. It is something that I think will be good for us moving forward."
The Royals are now 12-5 on the season and begin MonDak play Thursday night in Bottineau versus the DCB Jacks.
