Hot Start From Royals Leads to Win Over Gillette

Unfazed, Lynn came down the floor on consecutive possessions and made three-pointers.
It was that type of night for the sophomore.
Lynn scored a game-high 26 points, 24 in the first half as the Royals dismantled the Pronghorns 79-66 Saturday night in the nightcap of the Sleep Inn Classic from the Sports Center.
"My mentor was here so he got me in the gym, I got shots up before anyone came in there … I felt good today and when I got hot my teammates found me," Lynn said. Lynn was 10-of-17 from the field, 6 for 12 from beyond the arc) and had eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.
And a couple of 'I show yous.'
"So they fouled me, I hit the floor real hard and they were talking a little bit. So I was like 'OK, watch this I'm gonna turn up." Those two threes were the final two for Lynn on the night.
The Royals (3-1) also got 13 points and eight rebounds from Lamarr Wood as they jumped out early on Gillette, building a 12 point lead over the first four minutes of the game. They led 20-7 with 13:21 remaining until halftime and never looked back. The Royals held the Pronghorns to 9-of-26 shooting in the first 20 minutes and led 49-26 going into the dressing room.
"That was a real team win," said Royals head coach Jared Marshall. "Jordan Lynn got hot early but we got great contributions from Lamarr Wood and Jayden Komrosky. I thought we continually made the right play. It was an unselfish basketball game."
Komrosky finished with 11 points and the Royals got 21 points from their bench and had 22 assists on 29 made baskets.
"Our defense was good. I mean, when you can hold a team to 66 points you're guarding. I just thought it was a total team effort tonight," Marshall said.
Gillette (1-2) was led by Kailleb Walton-Blanden who had 17 points, six rebounds and four assists and Archambault added 15 points.
