Royals Show Promise at Day One of Jamestown Tournament
The Lake Region State College Royals Golf Team traveled to Jamestown, ND to compete in the Jamestown Invitational Tournament.
The Lake Region State College Royals Golf Team traveled to Jamestown, ND to compete in the Jamestown Invitational Tournament.
The Royals are competing against other 2 year and 4 year schools from the area and Canada. The team finished Day 1 of the competition in 8th place. Sophomore Casey Julson led the way for the Royals by shooting an 83 which has him tied for 34th. Freshman Austin Kozojed shot an 88 on the day which has him in 44th. Freshman Nick Brockman shot a 103 which put him in 49th & Freshman Bryce Sibelius shot a 108 which puts him in 50th place.
Head Coach Randy Fixen said, "We showed a lot of promise out on the course today. There were a few holes and strokes that each one of our guys wants back. I think now that they have a better feel for the course we should see some lower scores tomorrow. I am happy with the way our guys are out here competing against some quality opponents."
The Royals will compete in Day 2 of the Jamestown Invitational today. This is their final tune up before the regional tournament.
