LRSC Golf Day 2 of Bismarck Tournament
Day 2 for the Lake Region State College Golf Team saw another solid outing for the Royals.
Day 2 for the Lake Region State College Golf Team saw another solid outing for the Royals. Sophomore Casey Julson shot a team best 74 on the day which was good enough to shave 8 strokes off his first day. Casey Julson finished in 8th place on the day. Casey said, "I started out really well today and I just made sure I kept the momentum going throughout my round." He continued, "My short game was really on for me today, I had some really nice chips and it helped that I was sinking puts."
Freshman Nicholas Brockman shot a 97 and finished in 35th place. Freshman Austin Kozojed finished shot a 99 on the day and finished in 36th place. Freshman Bryce Sebelius shot a 97 and finished in 37th. Overall the Royals finished 6th as a team in the Bismarck State College Tournament.
Head Golf Coach Randy Fixen said, "Overall, I was very happy with the golf we played the past two days, we had our inconsistencies at times but if we can limit that I think we have a chance to be a very good team this year." He went on to say, "I was proud of the way Casey played today, he is playing with a lot of confidence and that is the type of golf he is capable of playing all year for us."
